Tom King

Tom King is the Senior Director of R&D for OrganaBrands that includes the O.penVape, Bakked, and Magic Buzz family of companies. Tom’s team is discovering and implementing new cannabis-based commercial products with special focus on therapeutics development supporting OrganaBrand’s wellness initiative. Tom earned his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Massachusetts and has worked in the Biotechnology industry for over 18 years. Prior to Organabrands, Tom led a R&D team at a T-cell vaccine company, GlobeImmune, Inc., in the development of treatments for cancer, viral hepatitis, and tuberculosis. He comes to Organabrands with deep expertise in FDA-regulated therapeutics development from collaborative programs with major biopharmaceutical companies and governments institutions. Tom has authored over 40 patents and peer-reviewed publications in the fields drug target discovery, vaccine development, and molecular genetics.
